Privacy policy of beroNet GmbH
This policy covers the website www.beronet.com. The shop, the wiki, the service desk and beroCloud have their own privacy notices; those systems are listed in section 7.

2. What this website does not do
This website consists of pre-generated HTML pages. The usual apparatus was left out deliberately:
- no JavaScript in the delivered page code
- no cookies, no local storage, no session storage
- no audience measurement, no statistics, no Google Analytics
- no advertising networks, no remarketing, no tracking pixels
- no embedded videos, maps, social plugins or like buttons
- no forms, and therefore no form data
- no user accounts, no login, no personalisation
That is why this website asks for no consent and shows no cookie banner: there is nothing consent would be needed for.
3. Opening a page: server logs
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (Cloudflare Pages). Each request causes Cloudflare to process the connection data that delivery technically requires:
- the IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of the request
- the address requested and the volume of data transferred
- the HTTP status code
- the identifier your browser sends (user agent) and, if your browser sends it, the referring page
Delivery is impossible without the IP address — that is a precondition of every internet connection. The purpose is to deliver the pages and to defend against attacks and abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and uninterrupted operation of the website.
We do not evaluate these logs ourselves, do not combine them with other data and build no user profiles from them. Cloudflare retains them only briefly to defend against attacks and abuse.
Cloudflare acts for us as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Cloudflare operates a worldwide network, so processing in the United States cannot be ruled out. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, on the recipient’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
4. Fonts
The three type families used by this site (Archivo, IBM Plex Mono, Source Serif 4) are served from our own server. Nothing is fetched from Google Fonts or any other font service, so no IP address is transmitted anywhere for that purpose.
This website makes no connection to any third-party server. Everything needed to display a page — markup, stylesheet, fonts, images — comes from the address you called up. There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising network and no embedded content from elsewhere.
5. Contacting us
This website has no contact form. Contact runs through the email addresses, the telephone number and the fax number given above.
When you write to us we process what your message contains — name, email address, company, telephone number and the content itself — solely in order to handle and answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract or its preparation, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest being to answer enquiries addressed to us.
Our email runs on Google Workspace; Google Ireland Limited acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR to that extent.
We delete correspondence once it is no longer needed and no commercial or tax retention period applies.
6. Job applications
Applications go to jobs@beronet.com. We process the documents you send solely for the application procedure. The legal basis is § 26(1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act together with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (deciding whether to establish an employment relationship).
If we do not hire, we normally delete the documents six months after the procedure ends; that period serves to defend against possible claims under the German General Equal Treatment Act. We keep them longer only with your express consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
7. Links to other beroNet systems
This website links to systems it does not operate:
| System | Operator | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
shop.beronet.com | ePages shop hosted by STRATO AG | ordering and purchase |
beronet.atlassian.net | Atlassian | wiki (documentation) and service desk (support) |
berocloud.beronet.com | beroNet GmbH | device and licence management |
A link on its own transfers nothing. Only when you follow it does your browser connect to the target system, and only there is data processed. Those systems are covered by the privacy notices published on them.
8. Recipients
Apart from the service providers named in this policy — Cloudflare for hosting and Google for fonts and email — we pass on personal data only where we are legally obliged to or where you have consented. We do not sell data.
9. Your rights
You have the right to information (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Consent once given may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Write to info@beronet.com.
Right to object. Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object under Art. 21 GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Right to complain. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
10. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
11. Security, and whether you must provide data
The website is delivered exclusively over encrypted HTTPS. You are under no obligation to provide personal data; the website can be used in full without giving any. Without contact details, however, we cannot answer an enquiry.
12. Changes to this policy
If the technology behind the website or the legal position changes, we will amend this policy. The version published here is the one that applies.
